Radnor House - Independent School Twickenham - Independent Secondary School - Independent Preparatory School

An independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18 years

Life at Radnor House

School day

Pupils are expected to be at Radnor House by 8.30am in readiness for a prompt start to the school day. Lunch is between 12.10pm and 1.55pm depending on the year group. Changes to the school day from September 2013 mean that Years 3 to 8 will leave school at 3.45pm. In Year 9 and above the academic day includes another academic lesson and will finish at 3.55pm. We have extended the school day slightly to enable a host of extra-curricular activities to take place before the end of the day. A key element of the school day at Radnor House is interaction with the House Tutor which takes place both in the Tutor period and the Morning Pastoral Briefing. This enables pupils to discuss with their mentor their personal challenges and find solutions in a caring and supportive forum. Each week the pupils will assemble for celebration and to highlight the successes of members of the school community in developing our stated aim of celebrating every individual. Our pupils regularly have the opportunity to gain a wider understanding of and commitment to the community in which they live through developing their presentational skills and meeting a range of visiting speakers.
